Premium Galvanized Steel Sheet & Plate for Industrial Use
Hot dipped galvanized sheets and plates in various zinc coating levels, thicknesses, and surface finishes. Widely used in construction, HVAC, and electrical products.
What Are Galvanized Steel Sheets & Plates?
Galvanized steel sheets and plates are flat steel products coated with a protective layer of zinc. This coating provides excellent corrosion resistance, making them ideal for both indoor and outdoor applications.
Key differences:
Galvanized sheet – thinner (typically <3mm), more flexible, often used for roofing, ducting, covers
Galvanized plate – thicker (>3mm), stronger, used in structural fabrication, platforms, brackets
Available in coil-cut sheets or mill plates, with options for spangle control and surface treatment.

Performance Characteristics and Applications of Galvanized Steel Sheets
I. Performance Characteristics
Corrosion Resistance
Galvanized steel sheets form a protective film through a zinc layer on the surface, effectively isolating air and moisture, significantly delaying steel corrosion. Its rust-prevention principle is based on the sacrificial anodic protection of zinc, remaining stable even in humid or acidic/alkaline environments.
Processing Performance
Using low-carbon steel as the base material, it possesses excellent cold bending, welding, and stamping characteristics, suitable for complex forming processes. For example, after high-temperature treatment, the zinc-iron alloy layer of alloyed galvanized steel sheets improves coating adhesion and weldability.
Surface Quality and Economy
The zinc layer gives the sheet a silvery-white metallic luster, a smooth and flat surface, and low maintenance costs. Compared to ordinary steel sheets, although the initial cost is higher, the long-term need for rust prevention reduces the frequency of replacement.
II. Main Applications
Construction Industry
Used for structural components such as roofs, walls, and corridors, as well as light steel keels and cable trays. Its weather resistance is suitable for outdoor environments; for example, plug-in galvanized gratings are used in sewage treatment plants, facilitating maintenance and providing corrosion resistance. Home Appliance and Automotive Manufacturing
In the home appliance sector: Refrigerators and washing machines use zinc plating for their outer casings and internal components, leveraging its rust-resistant and form-forming properties. In the automotive sector: Body panels and chassis components; double-sided galvanized steel sheets significantly extend the rust-resistant lifespan of the entire vehicle.
Other Industrial Applications
Including power transmission towers, containers, and agricultural equipment. In the transportation industry (such as highway guardrails) and mechanical parts (such as gear bushings), zinc coatings ensure structural durability.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What’s the difference between galvanized sheet and plate?
A:
Sheets are usually thinner (<3mm), used for covering or ducting. Plates are thicker, used in heavier load or structural applications.
Q2: Do you offer zero spangle galvanized sheet?
A:
Yes, we supply smooth zero spangle finish suitable for painting or printing.
Q3: What’s the lifespan of galvanized sheet outdoors?
A:
With Z275 coating and proper installation, it can last 15–30 years depending on environment.
Q4: Can I order specific sizes like 1219x2438mm?
A:
Absolutely. We cut to standard and custom sheet sizes in any quantity.
Q5: Is chromated surface suitable for painting?
A:
Yes, chromated sheets offer better paint adhesion and are often used as base for PPGI.
