Stainless Steel Sheet & Plate for Industrial, Commercial & Decorative Use

We supply cold-rolled and hot-rolled stainless steel sheets in various finishes and thicknesses. All grades available from factory inventory. Cut-to-size and ready to ship worldwide.

What Are Stainless Steel Sheets & Plates?

Stainless steel sheet and plate are flat-rolled steel products with a chromium-rich composition that makes them highly resistant to rust, oxidation, and chemical corrosion. They are used in a wide range of industries including kitchenware, food processing, marine, construction, medical, and automotive.

The difference between sheet and plate lies primarily in the thickness:

Sheet: typically < 6mm thick

Plate: usually ≥ 6mm thick

We offer 2B, BA, No.4 (brushed), HL, Mirror (8K) and other finishes depending on your application needs.

Detailed Description of the Performance Characteristics and Applications of 430 Steel

1. Performance Characteristics

430 steel is a ferritic stainless steel. Its core properties stem from its high-chromium, low-carbon chemical composition (16%-18% chromium, very low nickel content).

1.1 Corrosion Resistance: Excellent in dry and clean environments, resistant to a wide range of chemicals, but may be susceptible to corrosion in strong acidic and alkaline environments.

1.2 Heat Resistance: Suitable for high-temperature applications, it can withstand temperatures ranging from 200°C to 600°C, with a maximum continuous operating temperature of 800°C.

1.3 Processing Characteristics: Highly magnetic (weakly magnetic in the annealed state, enhanced by cold working), high hardness but low toughness, making it easy to cut, weld, and stamp.

1.4 Cost-Effectiveness: Nickel-free, it is significantly less expensive than austenitic stainless steel, offering an excellent value for money.

2. Main Applications

430 sheet is widely used in many fields due to its stable performance:

‌2.1 Home appliances and kitchenware‌:

(1) Refrigerator door panels, washing machine drums, microwave oven linings, etc., taking advantage of its heat resistance and electromagnetic compatibility‌.

(2) Cookware, knives and kitchen tools, because the surface is easy to clean and wear-resistant‌.

‌2.2 Building decoration‌:

Handrails, doors and windows, decorative panels and other outdoor components, relying on its low maintenance and weather resistance‌.

‌2.3 Automobile and industry‌:

(1) Automobile decorative strips, exhaust system components, adapted to high temperature and mechanical stress‌.

‌(2) Petrochemical equipment, ship accessories, used in scenes with medium corrosion resistance requirements‌.

‌2.4 Other applications‌:

Signages, lighting equipment and medical equipment accessories, taking into account both aesthetics and durability‌.
